High School Senior Session

I met this high school senior at Keehner Park for his session.  Typically I try to avoid doing sessions in the middle of the day if they are going to be outside.  The light is not always that great when it is so high in the sky but this location worked out great.  I arrived early so I could scout around and find places that I thought would work given the light.  Everything worked out perfectly and the senior was great to work with.  Below are a few of my favorites from the session.

A shaded part of the creek was a perfect location.

Thankful for the large rocks to give us a seating area.

The filtered light was amazing.

I was loving the light by this point.

Little Kid Soccer

I struggled to come up with a title for this post.  How do you title a post about a 5 year old playing soccer?  🙂

One of my personal goals this year was to spend more time with my family and friends.  My job tends to fill my evenings and weekends when most other people are off and doing things.  Definitely not complaining about my job, just stating a fact.  I happen to love what I do.  My hardest thing sometimes is saying no to customers which means I miss some family activities.  So when a team picture session I had scheduled got moved at the last minute I was happy to find out my nephew was playing a make-up soccer game.  My nephews seemed excited to see me which made my day.  I did bring along a camera to take a few pictures during the game as long as the light held out.  Did I mention the game started at 6:30pm?  Sunset was about 7 and there are no lights for the field.  We are talking about 4 and 5 year olds playing soccer so it is not like they need anything fancy for them.  Plus they normally play on Saturday morning\afternoon so there is no need for lights.  I stood there waiting for the game to start and watched the sun sink below the fence around the field.  Lack of lighting did not bother any of the kids as they were thrilled to be playing.  Here are a few images of my nephew from the game.  Proud of him for soccer 2 goals and playing hard.

He has the tongue thing down perfectly.  And has great form as well.

Looking ahead while running to catch up with the ball.

Checking out where the goalie was before striking the ball.

The line-up for his second goal.

Amazed by how much he actually looks up to see what is going on.

Last image of the night.  By now it is fairly dark and I am shooting at a much lower shutter speed than I like and a really high ISO.

High School Senior Session

The forecast kept wavering on us for this high school senior session.  First it was going to be nice, then it changed to rain and then just a cool day.  It ended up being cool and overcast so we moved up the session a little bit so we would have great natural light.  As I drove away after we finished, the sun popped out.  Least the scattered rain stayed away.  Here are a few of my favorites from the session:

The wooden bridge gives just enough color for a background.

The grey sweater was my favorite from the session.

Love the randomly placed benches at the park.

The wooden fence bordering the walkway worked out perfectly.

Lakota East at Mason Football

As we get later into the season, the Friday night football games get more intense as everyone tries to finish with a good record and get into playoff position.  Lakota East was trying to avoid losing 2 in a row and Mason was trying to start a winning streak.  Mason prevailed and have now won 2 straight.  The game definitely featured a lot of running plays.  Here are a few of my favorites from the game:

While waiting to get things under way the cheerleaders tossed around a football.

High School Senior Session

What great weather we had for this high school senior session.  I met up with them at their house so we could take a few quick images with the family dog.  Then we headed out to a few different locations.  We started at a park, stopped by a small covered bridge, another park and then ended up on the railroad tracks.  Love that we were able to get so many different looks.  Here are a few of my favorites:

West Chester Ohio

They both did great right at the start of the session.

A light breeze was perfect for this image.

Her mom got us laughing at this point.

Unfortunately a car was parked under the bridge but we were still able to get some images.

I loved this one in black & white.  Big puffy clouds make the sky more interesting.

Even with it cooling off quickly she did amazing in her last outfit.

And the sun was setting giving us that golden, warm glow.
